Last weekend I mostly marked tests. I did manage to get out for a bit with my new housemate Zhila. We did some shopping and had dinner.
Monday was Swedish lessons. I am learning slowly. The class is good ...lots of comedians in the group which makes learning fun.
Tuesday I worked late late .... more marking. Mid term is approaching fast and all the marking needs to get done before it ends.
Wednesday we had a social media presentation in Swedish. I didn't understand a thing. But I guess i didn't miss much, the Swedes said it was a terrible presentation. I know the slides which were bilingual were bad and didn't support what he was talking about.
Thursday is my short day and I went to pick up my Swedish ID card.... 45 minutes from work and then an hour home. But now I can have a real bank account with International transfers and internet banking. They say I am a Swede now.
Friday was a PD day. We had a collaborative workshop with two other IES schools. It was at our school and it was really well run. There were three presentations/workshops and then a networking/game period. All the sessions were interesting and informative. I learned a lot and enjoyed the day.....Information overload for sure. I also met many other people I can network with.
The day was a food frenzy with breakfast, then Fika (coffee break with muffins and other sweets), followed by lunch and then afternoon Fika and at the end of the day there was a Wine and Cheese celebration. I stayed for about an hour and enjoyed some cheese and crackers. They always have brie at thee events which I love. I left when the drinkers started to get a bit rowdy.
It was a great way to celebrate world teacher day.
