There were also some bargains in the stores. I took advantage of a few and bought some Christmas presents.
I also found a section I had not traveled before...behind the Palace.
I don't know what this building is but it is beautiful and fascinating. There are three arches that you walk though. The detail in the masonry is gorgeous.
Here are some other pictures from the area.
The streets are very crowded.
I continued on my walk, since I hadn't reached my step goal yet and ended up in Stockholm and the T-Centralen subway station. There was a demonstration in the courtyard. The picture isn't clear but they all had masks on........ and of course there was a police presence so it would stay a peaceful demonstration.
On the way home I stopped a couple of subway stations to continue my exploration of the world's largest art gallery and see the art...... well what someone calls art.
The first one was the Slussen station on the red line. Not my favorite and the green line side is not any better.
The other station was Mariatorget. This one had a set of photographs, mostly black and white but with a few coloured ones thrown in. It could have been taken out of someone's family album. Much nicer art.
This one reminds me of the old diving tower at Loon.
I arrived home with my steps complete and my head clear and a lovely surprise awaiting me. Zhila had made dinner for both of us. So we sat down and caught up on life and our goings on. It was a really nice treat, eating with someone. She is a terrific young lady and we get along really well, despite our age difference.
Well now that I have had time to relax while blogging I am ready to go back to marking.
I wish all you Canadians a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. Eat some turkey and pumpkin pie for me.
Chris
